For this installation I manipulated the exhibition space: I built a wall in front of the window and subtle change the light bulbs with foil. A visitor who would be there the first time would not notice any alteration at all but the adjustments drastically changed the perception of the space. The usually light filled space now looked narrow and demure.
This work is kind of in between – there is of a gap between the original subject and its appearance. It might look serious but it’s also humorous. It might appear to have a mystical meaning but the subject is banal. The work I installed in the space is called untitled pug marks. What looks like fossilized traces or footprints of long extinct creatures and resemble Neil Armstrong's footprint on the moon are the imprints of bananas in plaster. Along with it, I showed three still life paintings, with apparently cosmic motifs, which actually show dramatically lit melons and sponges while only one painting actually pictured the moon.
