The vocabulary of such turning points has become key to descriptions of our #present times. Twelve artists with an interest in processes of time were invited to engage with this abstract, elusive #moment, contrasting it with sensory #experience and visualization. They all developed #newworks for the main exhibition space at Neues Museum, ranging from #photography to #film, #performance and #installations. Their approaches are varied, exploring different experiences of time, asking how #past and #future touch, connect and merge in the present. How it’s going ⬅️how it started I used up 18 How it’s going ⬅️how it started I used up 180lbs of #salt (that’s over 80kg)! Has anyone ever had #soremuscles in their #hands and #fingers? At one point the #ceramic #model was #tooheavy for me to #lift and it #rolled off the table and smashed itself the minute it was finished while I was preparing a cushion for it on the floor. You can’t see the other #end of it because of the #curvature of the #earth. The #salt is up to 5 ft (1,5 m) thick. It‘s edible! Some of it is shallowly covered with #water. When the water freezes and thaws it creates #hexagon #patterns in the #salt. The #flats have been used for #speed tests since 1911. In some #areas it’s covered with car tracks which harm the #surface. I randomly found a dead #cloudedsulphur a yellow greenish #butterfly in the #middle of the #place and brought it home in a #box.
