I see
Don’t count the chickens
before these 3 dozen ceramic eggs have hatched.
In Germany one egg resembles the other like peas in a pod.
The German word for egg is Ei, pronounced [aɪ̯].
It’s like Ei said.
Like eye sad.
Oh. I see.
These 3 dozens ceramic eggs are all variations of the same cast of an ostrich egg. The series evolved from an interlingual pun between the German word Ei which means Egg and the English words I, Eye, which are pronounced similarly. (Ei scream, Ice cream, I said, Eye said, Ei ball and so on) From there the sculptures explore different kinds of ideas: linguistic, content related, comical, formal, semiotic, etc.
The series is displayed on geometric modules or shelves, creating an environment or display in which they are put in a spatial relationship to each other, as well as to the space.
